Adventure Day Trips from Brisbane

Brisbane is one of the most beautiful cities in Australia. What makes it even more amazing are all the adventure day trips that await you! You can take a day trip to hike up Mt Coot-tha, go for a swim in Lake Kurwongbah or head up to Hervey Bay and see some dolphins. Whether you’re an adrenaline junkie looking for white water rafting or just want to relax with your friends on the beach, there’s something for everyone in Brisbane! In this blog, we cover the top adventure day trips to do in and around Brisbane.

Mt Coo-tha

Mt Coo-tha is the closet mountain to Brisbane and is a great place to take a trip to get a great view of Brisbane and enjoy the outdoors.  Mt Coo-tha is a location where the Aboriginals used to collect wild honey from stingless bees.  Enjoy the history, the trails, the botanical gardens, the bike tracks, or just a simple picnic on Mt Coo-tha.  Make sure when travelling to Brisbane you don’t miss out on the beauty of Mt Coo-tha.

Lake Kurwongbah

Visit Lake Kurwongbah to enjoy some of the Australian wetland and lake reptiles and fish.  It was the backdrop to a speedway, but now is just a place of nature with birds, reptiles inhabiting the lake.  You can enjoy the lake via a kayak and observe the surrounds and what lives in the depths.  It’s a close trip from Brisbane and a unique place visit if you are keen to see wildlife.

Glasshouse Mountains

Amazing looking structures that once towered above the area millions of years ago.  They are only an hour from the city and well worth a visit due to their beauty.

Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary

Check out this Wildlife Sanctuary to see up close the beauty of Australian native animals.  Koala bears, reptiles, birds of all types and lets not forget the Wallaby.  Great education thing for your kids as they will be able to interact with a number of the animals.

Gold Coast

The Gold Coast has so much to offer due to it’s beautiful beaches, warm waters and amazing surf breaks.  You can swim all year round, even though it is a little chilly in the winter.  Feel free to just bask in the sun or learn to surf and enjoy the smooth waves.  Your teenagers will love it.

Toowoomba

Go inland and visit Toowoomba.  Only an hour and a half drive.  It has many trails and lookouts and some impressive Queensland bush.  A great adventure for those who like to get out and about and hit the trail.

We are passionate about adventure day trips in Brisbane, so we want to share our top destinations with you.
